Guitar
Ken Allday is from a horse farm outside Louisville, but his music comes from the hills outside old Paris. His approach is grounded in the sounds of Django, married with musical styles of the present day. With a huge melodic vocabulary, deft and daring harmonic sense, and a freight train sense of unstoppable rhythm, Ken has developed his own voice on the guitar, and has the language to communicate where he’s coming from. Whether you’re looking for ideas to develop your sense of harmony, or looking for the techniques of a hundred pound right hand, Ken’s perspective and ability make him a valuable musician and educator. He has recently been teaching at the Louisville Folk School and playing all over the Kentuckiana area with an assortment of the area’s best and brightest. He’s in rare form, and excited to make his return to this year’s Django in June.
