Nuno Marinho is an award-winning guitarist and composer from Portugal. He is the top reference in the country as a Gypsy jazz performing artist and pedagogue. An organizer as well, Nuno is the creator and promotor of
Festival Django Portugal, at which he has has played with Manouche and Sinti masters like Paulus Schafer, Wawau Adler, Robin Nolan, Duved Dunayevsky, Tcha Limberger, Lolo Meyer … and our old friend Tim Kliphuis, with whom he is shown in this video from Festival Django Portugal 2023.
Nuno offers both private classes and a monthly online workshop which attracts students from all over the world. He is the author of a collection of transcriptions of
Django Reinhardt Solos, and has published a variety of
Gypsy Jazz Articles,
Interviews, and album reviews. Here he is with his group, Manouchka, playing a traditional tune we’ve heard before from Tcha Limberger, “Tchavo”.
