Double Bass
Born in 1980, Cedric Raymond starts learning to play music at a very young age. He fell in love with jazz and studied at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. As a multi-instrumentalist (bass, double bass, guitar, keyboards…) he has studied and performed a variety of musical genres. For example, here he is with Itamar Borochov live at WOMEX 2019.
For something a little closer to our home turf, here’s a sample of Cedric’s work with The Morning Call Jazz Band.
But where’s the Gypsy jazz, you ask? Well, how about his role as bassist in Fapy Lafertin’s current quartet? He and two other members of Les Violons de Bruxelles— also on staff at DiJ this year—make up that quartet with the great Dutch master who, in case you didn’t know, is Tcha Limberger’s uncle and one of his early musical influences.
