Si Tu Vois Ma Mère

A beautiful composition from one of the greats of the early Jazz age: Sidney Bechet. Jack has prepared two written versions of this tune. The first offers you a straightforward take on the melody, while the second is based on Bechet’s embellished performance of it. If you haven’t already done so you can download those lead sheets here:

For a Gypsy jazz reading of the tune here is a video of Django in June instructors Tcha Limberger and Denis Chang performing it. (This was recorded as part of DC Music School’s, “In The Style of Tcha Limberger,” of which there are both guitar and violin lesson tracks. Highly recommended!)

Or… learn the chords straight from Denis as he calls them out in this video from an evening jam under the tent at Django in June. This one also features Tcha, now with the great Rino van Hooijdonk.
