Joining us at DiJ this year as one-third of the Mysterious Travellers is a violinist with a long history in the Gypsy jazz world: Laurent Zeller. Known to those in the know as an essential part of Les Pommes de ma Douche, Laurent has also played with Raphaël Fays, Romane, and Tchavolo Schmitt. Watch him at work with fellow travellers Emmanuel Kassimo and Alain Grange, and it doesn’t take long to sense that you are in the presence of a true pro; one gets the notion that whatever curveball you throw him, Laurent will be prepared to knock it out of the park.
As part of this new trio of interpreters, Laurent explores familiar GJ classics alongside later jazz standards like Bernie’s Tune and My Favorite Things. Speaking of standards, here are a couple featuring Laurent Zeller for you:
