Open to all Levels, but recommended for Level 2 and Level 3. If you are planning on taking Dave’s afternoon rhythm class, please attend a rhythm class with another teacher in the morning.

Study with Dave Kelbie

Dave Kelbie is a producer and regular accompanist for some of the best Gypsy jazz players in the world, including Fapy Lafertin, Tcha Limberger, Angelo Debarre and Mozes Rosenberg. In all the dedicated rhythm guitar classes, he’ll work spontaneously with students on any or all of the following topics:

• The effect an well-oiled rhythm section can have on the geography of a performance.
• How a rhythm guitarist works with the rhythm section: (encouraging soloists with breaks, other rhythms, or just suggestion.) 
• Planning a tune from an accompanying perspective, changing plans mid-tune.
• How to play softly with attitude.

• Inflections.. dynamics and where to sit on the beat.
