This phenomenal ballad was written by French guitarist and singer Sacha Distel (the composer of the Jazz Manouche classic ‘Ma Premiere Guitare’). It was also a hit for Frank Sinatra under the title ‘The Good Life’. Its inclusion in this year’s Tier 2 repertoire is inspired by Paulus Schäfer and Dominique Paats recording of this waltz, on their CD ‘Rocky’. The chart we’ve provided features two sets of chord changes, one closer to Sacha’s classic recording, and the other showing how Paulus and company have arranged the song for their band.
