Django in June

Jared Engel will not only perform with The Stephane Wrembel Trio on Friday night - that's his usual gig - but with Lollo Meier and Dave Kelbie on Saturday as well. In addition, on Saturday afternoon he will offer this clinic for double bassists who share an interest in the history and practice of bass playing in this unique jazz tradition. Those of you who have seen Jared in action know that he knows wherof he speaks.

Truth be told, Jared has been on the road a lot lately and he has not provided details on the content of the clinic. This will be his third presentation in Western Mass, however, and every time he offers a clinic I get nothing but good feedback. A well organized and generous teacher, he is happy to have the opportunity to share what he has learned through years of performance and study of Gypsy Jazz. We thank the WNEDBS for helping to make Jared's participation at Django in June possible.
