Stompin’ at the Savoy

Here is another must know Swing standard that many jazz manouche artists have performed or recorded over the years. We have included written materials and lessons in the original key of Db major, which is still the most common.

That said, one of our artists on staff, Noé Reinhardt, has recorded it in Eb (as did Django). You can also find it played on occasion in D major.

It’s a great idea to get comfortable transposing simple tunes, if you’re not already in the practice of doing so. This one would be a great one to start with!
