Django Camp 2012 Registration

As of May 14 -- New registration is temporarily/partially suspended.
Please read this update carefully.

At roughly one month out from Django in June 2012, we have the kind of problem one wants to have: we have reached capacity for the dorms to which we have been assigned this year (Northrop, Gillett and Talbot.) We have also reached our target student/teacher ratio (of roughly 9/1) for guitarist, though not for violin, mandolin, accordion and bass.

I want 2012 to be not only the biggest Django in June yet, but the best for everyone who is currently a confirmed registrant, (and, for that matter, for anyone who may register in the coming weeks.) So while I explore our options for more housing in close proximity and more guitar staff of the caliber we currently enjoy, I'm going to hit the pause button for the following new registrations:

  • All guitarists.
  • Players of other instruments who would need on-site housing.

I hope to have a clearer idea of our options with respect to additional housing and staff by Monday, May 21st, at which time I'll either restart registration, or not, given the givens.

If you would like to attend Django Camp and this suspension is affecting you, I'm happy to put you on a waiting list so you have first dibs on any spots that come available. To get on that waiting list please jot me a quick email: andrew AT communityguitar DOT com and give me the following info:

  • Name
  • Instrument
  • Length of stay (first priority is those who can come for all of Django Camp.)
  • Whether you would like on-site housing.
  • Whether you would want the on-campus meal plan.
  • Whether you require financial aid.

Thanks for your understanding...I'll be back with a clear way forward very soon!

~Andrew

You have a number of options that will determine the exact cost of Django Camp for you and these are outlined in the table immediately below. The only non-optional item on the menu is the Camp tuition. Now that the early-bird registration period has passed, Camp tuition stands at $605. It will go up by another $30 in May, so if you'd like to join us, please register as early as possible. It helps me with planning and helps keep your cost down. Win-win, we call that.

Django Camp Costs
Tuition
$605* (Covers instruction, concerts and all Smith facilities except a dorm room.)
Housing
$205 (private dorm room Tuesday - Saturday nights)
Food
$200 (Wednesday breakfast - Sunday breakfast; no Thursday dinner.)
Total
$1010* (For all the items above.)
Additional (Possible) Costs
Monday housing
$60 (For early arrivals. Fun, and a more gentle on-ramp!)
Financial Aid Fund
You can either contribute to this fund (thanks!) or request to draw from it (just ask).

*This cost reflects a $30 increase after the early-bird registration period through March. In May the cost will go up again by another $30.

Please note our Cancellation Policy:

Two Payment Options:

  1. Pay by check, by mail. To pay by check, please print out this form and mail me an old-fashioned check. Please only register by mail if you are sure I will have received your check by June 1st. If in doubt, give me a call (413.268.0068) or drop me an email (andrew AT communityguitar DOT com).
  2. Online Payment. Pay online using the PayPal buttons in the table below. Please note that there is a fee of roughly 2% for online processing. You can avail yourself of this option whether or not you have a PayPal account. Each time you hit the Add To Cart button you'll be cyber-transported to the PayPal site to see your shopping cart and its balance. Hitting the Continue Shopping button on that PayPal page will bring you back here to move on to your next selection. It's a little clunky, I'll grant you, but it works.
