Housing & Food

In 2010 we'll be back in the beautiful, spacious dorms we've used for the last three years, King and Scales. (I've asked that they change the name of King to Arpeggios, but do they listen?) Together, these two dorms form a large crescent-shaped building close to our concert venue, Helen Hills Hills Chapel. They feature:

For a more detailed look at King, including floor plans, please swing by this page from the Smith web site. Please note that there are very few rooms in these dorms that can accomodate couples, and none with double beds.

The dorm is a very short walk from the venues for our Friday and Saturday night performances and a 15 minute walk from downtown Northampton, so once you are here you can say goodbye to your car for the weekend and know that you have a safe place to stash your instrument should you ever want to give your blistered fingers a break.

We offer an on-campus meal plan for both Django Camp participants and those who join us for the entire weekend. The folks at Smith are happy to accomodate a variety of special dietary needs if advance arrangements are made. Sharing meals together allows us to not only stay well-fed during our time here, but well-connected with each other. I strongly recommend going this route while you're here rather than fending for yourself, though eating in Northampton is always an option.

While there may be rooms available for folks who show up unannounced, advance reservation of rooms — whether for Django Camp or the weekend — is strongly advised. This is a college campus after all, not a hotel. You can make these arrangements under Tickets and Registration.
